Driver/Owner:
Pat “Squirrel” Reiter
Patrick Reiter, Driver/Owner of the Thunderstruck 553
Profile was born in
Eau Claire,
Wisconsin.
Pat is married to Debbie Reiter and they reside in
Mechanicsville,
Maryland
with their two kids Dustin and Cody.
Pat works for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in the Fluid Leak
Management division and has been there for over 15 years.
In addition to his career at the
Nuclear Power Plant, Pat owns and operates a small business known as Reiter
Welding and Propeller. Reiter
Welding and Propellers’ initial specialization was welding however due to the
demand of high performance mechanics, his focus has transitioned to servicing,
and fabricating parts and materials for high performance boats.
Reiter Welding and Propeller is widely recognized as a dependable,
quality service oriented organization throughout the High Performance boating
community.
Pat began his racing
career prior to his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps.
Pat’s racing career began with his brother Don.
Don raced in the APBA (American Powerboat Association) Super Stock Flat
bottom division. There, Don held
the title of three time World Champion between 1986 – 1989.
During Don’s reign, Pat operated as a member of the Pit Crew for the
Reiter Racing “SS 53” race boat.
Pat contributes most of his racing experience today to his brother Don and the
knowledge he taught him over the years.
Pats passion for Offshore Racing
began in 2006 when he drove the 38’ Formula for Hot Licks Racing.
This boat was a P3 boat and ran in excess of 105 miles per hour.
Pat along with Owner, Bobby Baumgarten pushed the 38’ Formula to an
overall third place finish in points for the 2007 Season.
Hot Licks Racing traveled from
Michigan
to Key West,
with the majority of races being on the East Coast.
In the fall of 2007,
Pat decided that he would like to continue the Reiter tradition of Offshore
Racing with his son, Dustin. It was
at this time that he bought a 26’ Profile, the new Thunderstruck Racing Offshore
Boat. He also created Reiter
Racing, LLC with the hopes of one day turning the company over to both his sons,
Dustin, and Cody.
Throttle
Man:
Dustin “Chipmunk” Reiter
Dustin Reiter, throttle man of the Thunderstruck 553 Profile. He will be
graduating May 2008 from
Chopticon
High School.

but raised in Southern
Maryland
by Father Pat Reiter and Mother Debbie Reiter.
Currently Dustin works at The
Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in the Mechanical Maintenance Division and
plans to pursue a career in the field of Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance.
Growing up around
high performance boating, Dustin has had the experience of people twice his age.
Dustin’s father, Pat Reiter introduced Dustin into the field of Offshore
Performance. As a young child
through the ownership of his fathers’ business, Reiter’s Welding and Propeller,
Dustin picked up on common mechanical skills which he possesses today.
Pat started out specializing in Propeller repair and minor engine
repairs. Reiter’s Welding and
Propeller quickly expanded due to the demand and increase of high performance
boat owners. Through the years,
Dustin has been Pat’s right hand man learning and enjoying tricks and trade of
the marine industry, with a special passion for offshore performance.
Dustin’s first
experiences in Offshore Racing began in 2007, as he was on the Pit Crew for Hot
Licks Racing. Dustin traveled from
Michigan
to Key West
racing with the Hot Licks Racing Team, in the Offshore Performance Association
(OPA). Through watching his father
drive for Hot Licks, his interest and passion only grew.
Hot Licks Racing finished the season third overall in points in the OPA.
The experiences and people that Dustin has had the opportunity to meet
and interact with have helped shape his personality and style.
Dustin looks forward to being the only father – son team in his class and
hopes to have a very enjoyable and successful season.
